FAQ's and Need-to-knows:

Welcome to your SaraBear® diaper caddy resource section - here we answer our most frequently asked questions and share a few things we think will help you enjoy your caddy.

About your diaper caddy: Each caddy starts with a custom shaker-style basket in a tight weave of real wood in either a blonde or dark shade. A faux-leather handle is attached on either end of the basket and can be collapsed to lay along the side of the basket. Each liner is made from a heavy-weight, 100% cotton fabric.

To better understand how it will sit on your shelf, changing table or sideboard, the measurement of the caddy is 17" long x 11" wide x 6" to the top of the basket, when the handle is up, the height is 12".

How to use your caddy: The compartments of the SaraBear® diaper caddies are perfectly suited to holding standard cases of baby wipes. The boxes sit in the center-most compartment, preventing tipping as you pull a wipe from the caddy. Smaller compartments and pockets along the basket are tailored to hold swabs, ointments, teething gel, diapers (disposable or cloth), lotions, pacifiers and wrist rattles.

The caddy can also serve as a wonderful tool for breastfeeding moms. The compartments can be used to hold breast milk pumping supplies, such as breast milk storage bags, nursing pads, lanolin and a book or iPod®.

Caring for your diaper caddy: Our fabric liners are designed to echo the cozy environs of a crib or bassinet. Their playful patterns and crisp compartments are best preserved with gentle spot cleaning using a damp cloth and mild detergent or with delicate laundering by hand in cool water. To prevent the risk of shrinking or fraying, please hang the line to dry. Bleach and machine washing are dangerous to the liners.

Is this a good shower gift?  The SaraBear® diaper caddy is an excellent gift for new parents, with options for girl, boy or not-finding-out, and a longevity of usefulness that make it a lasting gift. The portable caddy makes diapering in any room of the house simple. A one-hand-reaches-everything organizational tool like our diaper caddy makes life easier and time spent with baby (or toddler) more relaxed and enjoyable.

Grandparents often say, "We never had that when you were a baby," the difference with the diaper caddies is that they then say, "I sure wish we had!"

What can I put in the caddy? The large center compartment of the caddy accommodates all major brands of wet baby wipes containers (i.e. Huggies®, Pampers®). The four medium sized compartments hold up to twelve diapers (cloth or disposable), and burp cloths. These can also be used for wash cloths and cloth diapers. There are another four pockets that fit diaper creams, lotions, nasal aspirators and smaller care items. We included one shallow compartment for the storage of items such as cotton swabs, teething gel and nail clippers.

Can I use the caddy for other things? Of course! The caddy can be a great tool for women who pump breast milk, with compartments suitable for the pump, breast milk storage bags, nursing pads, lanolin, a book and tissues.  (Note: never store diapering and/or breast milk pumping supplies in the same caddy).

The caddy can also be used for elderly people or individuals needing special care at home or in a nursing home facility. The compartments can be used for wet wash cloths, dressing and toiletry supplies.

First-time big sisters might enjoy a caddy of their own as a special place to store accessories like socks, tights, hair ties, headbands and jewelry.

Can I purchase the fabric liner or basket separately? To ensure the proper fit and best quality, we do not sell these pieces separately.

Can I order fabric swatches? If you are a retailer, we do have swatches available for purchase. There is a place on our Wholesale Order Form to choose them.

How long does shipping take?  Items ship from our New Jersey warehouse via FedEx Ground within 1-3 business days of ordering. In the event that a particular style is on backorder, the timeline will be clearly stated on our website.

How many caddies should a parent have? Do twins or triplets require more? This is truly a matter of personal preference. Many people like to be super-equipped and have supplies stored in each room of the house, others like the consistency of one central storage place. We do recommend considering the layout of the home and the comfort of the caretaker. Has the new mom had a C-section? Is the house more than one story? Are there other children to watch? In any of these cases a second caddy could be a much appreciated luxury. Multiple babies do create a greater demand for supplies, in some cases parents use one caddy for diapers and a second for wipes and toiletry items.
